Rubik's Cube

The other day I was on my couch getting ready to work on my Esther bible study and my little boy, Shawn, runs to me yelling "Look what I did!" He proudly handed me his Rubik's Cube and sure enough, it was completed. As I stared at it in amazement he started to giggle. A wide mischievous grin was appearing across his face. I said, "What did you do?" (by now he was laughing hysterically) He said, "Don't you see it?? I peeled off all the colors and stuck them where they should go!" We both had a good laugh and then proceeded to trick daddy later!

I thought about this, and how often we try to control how we appear on the outside. When, in order for changes to appear on the outside we must first change from the inside. It's all a matter of the heart. God is ready to do a great work in all of us. All we have to do is trust Him. The Lord said in Jeremiah 29:11-14:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and I will bring you back from captivity."

To me, this scripture is so promising!!! If we can put our trust in Him and take that small step of faith, we will start seeing changes on the outside as well as feeling amazing changes on the inside! Sometimes I feel like a Rubik's Cube, all mixed up and out of place. I am finding out that if I just let God "play" a little bit the colors start lining up. Things are starting to make sense and a new light is shed on issues that I couldn't figure out on my own.

I am praying that all of us will allow God to "play" in our lives!!!
